The Canberra Community Chorale is a choir with a proud history. We became an independent community choir in mid-2017 after a previous existence as the University of Canberra Chorale. We gladly welcome new members, both new and experienced, and offer a free two-week trial membership if you are thinking of singing with us. There are no auditions. Rehearsals are on Fridays at 12.30 at the Cook Community Hall and run for 90 minutes. We operate within the current ACT COVID-safe guidelines.

Our Music Director is Dan Walker, a composer, conductor and performer who is one of Australia’s leading choral specialists. Our Accompanist is Lucus Allerton, a highly regarded Canberra accompanist.

What does 2021 bring?

Our first concert for 2021 will be two major works by Vivaldi, his Magnificat (RV 610) and Gloria (RV 589), which we will perform on 27 June at 3 pm at the Cook Community Hall. Entry will be by ticket, available through the Trybooking website https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing?eid=769159&. There will not be an interval, and we regret that we cannot provide our usual sumptuous refreshments afterwards because of COVID- safe requirements. The second concert for the year will be on 21 November: details will be posted on this website as soon as they are confirmed.
